5 star hotels in SWITZERLAND
Switzerland has a huge reputation for the best hotels in the world. Probably you have heard about it yourself already. During our trip in Switzerland, we were super excited to share with you the 3 amazing hotel experiences we ’ve had so far. We have traveled a lot and no matter if we stay in a hotel or airbnb, we would always miss our own home a little bit after a while. However, let me present to you the 3 hotels that can guarantee to keep us from being homesick quite well.
Address: Haldenstrasse 4, 6006 Luzern, Switzerland
Let’s talk about our arrival. We arrived by car and even though we were unsure about where to park (we parked in the garage opposite to the hotel), the receptionist and concierge were kind enough to take care of it from A-Z. We didn ‘t have to worry about a thing.
From the moment you walk into the hotel, it didn’t lack of any good service at all. The receptionist was amazing, while the concierge took care of the car and our luggages (We tipped them by the way. Because we did bring a lot of luggages but by no means did they ask for it like in the States). About the room, when we opened the door, we were just “Wow!”. The size of the room, the interior design and, best of all, the view (you’ll read about this a couple more times). I also love it when there is a bowl of fruits and maybe some swiss chocolate waiting for you. Especially after driving for hours I’d love to have some fresh fruits!
Have I already mentioned the interior? Well, it actually worth mentioning twice. I mean look at the photos! It’s also just gorgeous to wake up in the morning, opening the curtains and having that huge wonderful lake right there. Then, the mountains in the background and you also get a nice view of the city. Lucern is such a romantic, lovely city that you can ‘t get tired of. I actually dare to say, that it makes you feel like a king/queen to stay at this hotel. So if you’d like to experience that feeling, this is the place to go to. They also have a pool which also has a balcony, and the sauna room is pretty awesome as well. Their dining, bar, restaurant area is also beautiful!
Pillow fight like a royal!

I just had a recent look at the reviews on google of this hotel and I was wondering why it doesn’t have 5*, but I assume it has something to do with expectations when spending so much money for a room (referring to the Kano-Model).
Here we are talking about another gorgeous hotel, which is imbedded in the middle of the Swiss Alps in a small village close to Interlaken. No matter if you decide to stay there in summer or winter, there are always activities waiting for you (skiing, hiking or just chilling in their Spa & pools OR enjoying the room).
Regardless, let’s talk about the most amazing part of the hotel itself. Throughout the preparations of our trip, Cindy couldn’t hide her excitement for the infinity pool and damn(!) it really is gorgeous. You might have to pay for it as the entrance to the Spa & pool is not necessarily included in the room rates (depends on your package). I just want to let you know that you should go there at least once and just relax in that pool, get a bubble massage while admiring the mountain view, with a huge waterfall in the distance. We can really recommend to go early in the morning, before enjoying the delicious breakfast buffet, to either just relax or to take amazing pics (like we did). Cindy has mild hydrophobia so she never really likes pools. Guess what? She adored this one. Nothing can compare to stepping into a not-too-deep thermal water with the crisp, fresh air of the mountain, listening to the birds and watching the sun slowly revealing its orange beam from the mountain peaks.
The staff here is also super kind and helpful and we were literally shook when they showed us the room we’d be staying at in real life. Pictures don’t do them justice. It felt more like an apartment than a hotel room, with a living room and 3 rooms and the chic interior design. Check it out yourself!
Last but not least, I want to talk about the entrance of the hotel, because that’s where you can also spend a nice evening. They do have an open fire place there, with some sofas around it. There is also a bar and the bartender makes sure, that even if you are relaxing or reading at the fireplace you will be able to enjoy a delicious cocktail or a wine. By the way, for the people who enjoy playing pool (I do) they also have a nice table to play there.
So let’s wrap up our impression into shorter words. We will definitely be back during winter because we can’t even imagine how gorgeous the view is gonna be with their wide glass structure, and as they also have a ski resort close by.
Let’s have a look at the last hotel we’ve stayed at during our time in Switzerland. Victoria Jungfrau is located in Interlaken and let me tell you this: It’s huge, gorgeous, and definitely worth the money. It’s name derives from the close mountain named “Jungfrau”, and you get to have a fascinating view at that mountain from the hotel’s room (well, at least from our room). This hotel is an giant building connected by two distinct ones in 1991, which was even before we were born. It has the most stunning Victorian and Belle Epoque design of a hotel that we have ever been to. I guarantee the moment you stepped into this hotel, you will go: “Oh my god!”because the entrance hall is gorgeous. I mean just look at the pictures which are amazing and in reality it’s even more mesmerising.
After being lead to our rooms (the hotel is so big and our suites are all the way in the back, so it took a while to get there), we took some time to enjoy the beauty of the room. I won’t describe much of it, just have a look at the pictures to get an impression. Cindy loved(!) the bed, and to say love is an understatement. It felt like sleeping on cloud and we had the best sleep that night. You can see how Cindy trying to tune a Victoria Beckham look on the bed below as well. She cute.
Let’s talk about the Spa in this hotel. It’s gorgeous. If the Cambrian has the best outdoor pool, Victoria Jungfrau definitely has the best indoor one. The pool area is huge, they have 4 inside jacuzzis and one outside and the best part is a curtain of shower, which is amazing to take pictures of (IT’S FREAKIN’ COLD THOUGH Cindy was dying inside lol). It was such a great place to relax and recharge energy. Unfortunately we didn ‘t get a chance to book any spa appointment because it was too late and we had too many things to explore around Interlaken.
At last I’d like to mention the breakfast buffet. It’s mind blowing! So many choices, super professional and each of them was so delicious. Without a doubt the best breakfast buffet I have ever had in a hotel. Another best is the service. Is it just us or all hospitality services in Swiss hotels are the best? It shook us a little bit to see how nice people are, to be honest, and the contributed SO MUCH to our experience there.
Each one of the hotels described has its own unique atmosphere and strength. I’d go back to all of them if I could. In a heart beat. If I REALLY have to choose, my personal favourite was the Cambrian in Adelboden, but mostly because of its location (I am a nature freak). If you ‘re a luxury die-hard and wants to stay in the most gorgeous hotel then I’d say Victoria Jungfrau. But Grand Hotel National Luzern would be perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Which one do you think you’d favor? What hotel do you still worship? We’d love to read your stories in the comment section below!
See you next time!
